How It All Began
In 1961, three men named Barney, Nickles, and Dernball came together to form a general rental facility in Vandalia, Ohio, known as BND Rentals. With only $2,500 in startup funds, they leased a 30’ x 60’ building, purchased a limited amount of equipment, and kept their day jobs to keep the business afloat, entrusting the daily operations to their retired parents. Within a few years of startup, and several long nights, both Nickles and Dernball decided to leave the company, leaving Mr. Barney as the sole proprietor of what was now known to the community as Vandalia Rental.
Through the hard work and dedication of every employee, loyal customers, and a pinch of good luck, Vandalia Rental has grown year-over-year to become Dayton’s largest full-service facility. Today, Vandalia Rental proudly services rental accounts ranging from large publicly traded corporations to government and municipalities to individual homeowners throughout the Ohio/Indiana region, and sales accounts throughout the country. With the area’s largest variety of equipment offerings; in-stock supply items, parts, and new equipment sales; and preventative and mechanical equipment repair, we are the areas most complete full-service rental facility.
